Founded in 1967 after Baltimore County purchased the property from a farmer for $5.00, Cockeysville Middle School was renovated in 1974 and again in 2007.  The school has students in grades 6-8, with a current enrollment of 910 students.  Of these, 299 (33%) qualify for Free Meals, 130 depend on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and 11 are currently identified as homeless.  Many others live in families who make too much to qualify for meal assistance, but not enough to make ends meet.

Cockeysville Middle School joined the Student Support Network in August, 2020. The lead volunteers of the Cockeysville Middle Network are Michele Guyton and Joyce Mann, who will work with school staff to fulfill student needs and stock and organize the room for students.
